Welcome back!

Today is Wednessday June 4th. 2008, it has been quite the exciting week. Keller Williams put together over 300 care packages for our troops at war. These packages included items such as, toothpaste, toothbrushes, snack items, books, movies, and magazines. We are trying to give them, the soldiers, a little feeling of home. We are currently looking for any donations of this type. if you are unable to shop for the items but still would like to contribute, we are able to take a monetary donation to purchase some items. Also, we are actively working on our My Community Makeover project, just like the T.V. show just a little smaller scale for now. Our families have carefully been chosen because of disabilities, unfortunate circumstances, or just having such an impact on the communtiy that karma should work that way. If you are willing to contribute please feel free to contact Steve Georgie at (941)321-6253. We need everything from labor to a new home so, anythingwill help us. One easy way to help out is we are having a comedy night at Mcurdy’s to help raise money for the project. It is on June 12th. at 7:00p.m., the cost is $15.00 and a two item minimun. for tickets, contact Steve Georgie at (941)321-6253. Lets all help make our community a better place to live.

On the business side of things, the market is trying to make it back. We have noticed a huge increase of buyers calling in on properties. The pricing is still going down a little but, as long as you price it right, to market trend, it will sell. The short sales and bank owned properties seem to be rising still but, are getting easier to work with, approval time and closings. Interest rates, as of today, for a 30 year fixed are at 6.08%.

For a little more fun, lets talk about sports. congratulations to the womens softball team from Arizona State for winning the college world series. Unfortunatly, the Florida Gators were eliminated in the semi final round by Texas A&m, but I am sure they will be there again. Also, with the best record in Major League baseball, the Chicago Cubs are the team to beat. Lets not forget about those Rays, leading the American league over the Boston Red Sox, YEAH! Also, don’t forget to tune into the exciting match up of the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers starting Thursday Night. Lets not forget to wish Tiger Woods a speedy recovery from knee surgury so he is able to compete in the U.S. Open.

Now for the good stuff, the recipe of the week. Cranberry Meatballs. For the meatballs you will need, 2 eggs, 1 cup bread crumbs, 1/3 cup fresh parsley, 1/3 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 cloves of garlic (minced), 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper (I like more), and 2 pounds ground beef. Mix all together and make into 1 inch balls. Put on cookie sheet in the oven at 450 degrees and bake for 8-10 minuets. On with the sauce, my favorite part. You will need, 1 16oz. can of whole cranberries,1 12oz. jar of chilli sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar,1 tablespoon prepared mustard, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 2 cloves of garlic (minced). Mix all together in a saucepan and simmer for about 10 minuets. Finally, pour over meatballs (fresh or frozen) in a crockpot on a low setting to keep warm. You might want to make about 500 meatballs cause they won’t last long.

I want to thank you for taking the time to look at our blog. And remember, if there is anything you ever need never hesitate to call on The Serena Group, “The family that welcomes you home!” Thanks again and help make it a great day!

Warm regards, The Serena Group!
