Four U.S. lawmakers want victims to be able to get tax relief from the financial burdens caused by defective Chinese Drywall & have written letters to the IRS requesting that costs to homeowners who have fallen victim to Chinese drywall be considered allowable deductions for federal income taxes. These lawmakers have asked for examination of the tax code: 165(h) concerning “casualty loses” to see if it could apply to victims of defective Chinese Drywall. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
